The fourth General Assembly convened in the basement of Wilson Hall on Wednesday, April 11th, 2012. The 48 students who participated in the final vote made their voices heard. Of approximately 240 students in the BSW program, these students represent 20% of all students enrolled.
With quorum established at 24 students, or a minimum of 10% of BSW students in attendance, 29 students voted in favor of the renewal of the strike, representing 60% of the social work undergraduates who voted on this general assembly motion.
Generally in a strike students do not attend class, nor turn in work, nor complete exams. Students are not required to strike from their classes, however they are asked to respect the decision made by students democratically and encouraged to act in solidarity with peers and the other student associations who have already decided to hold a general strike.
The next General Assembly will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday April 18th, in the Wilson Hall basement once again.
