- Selected

schools of social work
We
feel like this has been an amazing year for student participation in our small
school. Almost consistently, one-third of our students showed up to the General
Assemblies (GAs) and made their voices heard. The debates at the GAs were
incredibly informed and well reasoned. We heard numerous comments from our
seasoned GA volunteers that SWSA’s GAs were some of the most respectful and
insightful GAs that they had attended. Even though the strike was a difficult
and often times dividing process, we feel that overall students were remarkably
composed, respectful, and calm during this time. SWSA certainly learned a lot
about organizing, representation, democracy, and the tensions inherent in all
of those concepts. We hope that all students took the opportunity to learn from
this process as well.
In
conclusion, throughout this challenging and busy year we have learned so much
about all the students and their interests. We very much enjoyed working with
all of you, and hope that you feel we represented your interests well. Thank
you all so much for a making it a wonderful year. Congratulations to all whom
are graduating.
Best,
The Social Work Student Association
