We wish to thank all those of you who attended Wednesday’s General Assembly as well as all those who exercised their democratic rights throughout the strike.
At the General Assembly convened in the basement of Wilson Hall at 9h30 on April 18th, 2012, the decision was made not to renew the general unlimited strike started on March 19th. Of the 29 students who made their voices heard during the final vote 55%, voted to end the strike. SWSA knows that this has been a challenging time for all, but we thank all students who respected the decisions made during general assemblies, and hope that you will continue to do so in the future.
Lastly, we wish to commend all students who mobilized and will continue to mobilize around the issue, no matter where they stand. Using our voice and our actions is one of the strongest tools we have a students and as social workers, and as such we hope to see many more conversations happen in the weeks, months and years to come.
Sincerely,
The SWSA Executive Committee
