3. Call out for facilitators for Canadian Council for Refugees workshop
The organizers of the upcoming Canadian Council for Refugees workshop on the accessibility of education and employment to non-status and refugee youth are looking for facilitators. The aim of the workshop is to educate participants about the barriers which separate youth from education and employment, and to strategize ways to overcome them. Facilitators will lead discussions and interactive exercises.
This is a great opportunity to get involved with a national organization and to educate yourself and others.
People with all levels of familiarity with the issue are encouraged to apply! The organizers will be happy to work with facilitators and put them in contact with relevant community members so that they are comfortable with the topic. The conference is August 31 - September 2nd. Our workshop in particular will be 90 minutes, with each facilitator contributing 20 - 30 min worth. As of right now, they not know which day our workshop will fall on. Contact Kelsey at kelsey.angeley@gmail.com for more information!

5. Get Rid of your Pennies for a GREAT Cause!
A U1 Stage Placement is doing a fundraising initiative and could use your help!
Maison Nazareth House
Make 'cents' of the homeless ... gather your pennies (soon to be discontinued!) for Nazareth House! All proceeds for this campaign will support the men of Nazareth House; a residence for men who suffer from mental distress, many of whom were previously homeless.
Please contact Andrea directly if you have pennies to donate or if you have or are in contact with a small business or organization that could host a penny jar for the next few weeks. Email her at: andrea.palmer@mail.mcgill.ca
